Press Conference of Grandmothers of Plaza de Mayo

At the House of Identity, a press conference will be held where representatives of the Grandmothers of Plaza de Mayo will share details about the most recent case of identity recovery. The organization announced that this is the happy reunion of granddaughter number 139, whose discovery will provide valuable information about her origin and biological family.

Grandmothers of Plaza de Mayo reported in December 2024 about the discovery of grandson number 138, marking a significant milestone in their tireless search for grandchildren who disappeared during the dictatorship in Argentina. The recent confirmation of the discovery of granddaughter number 139 represents another success for the organization and a ray of hope for those families still searching for their loved ones.

The press conference is scheduled for today, Tuesday, January 21, at 2 PM, and will take place in the auditorium of the House for Identity of the Space for Memory and Human Rights, former Esma, located at Av. del Libertador 8151, CABA. Granddaughter 139 is the daughter of Marta Enriqueta Pourtalé and Juan Carlos Villamayor, two militants kidnapped in 1976 whose whereabouts are still unknown.

In the words of Grandmothers of Plaza de Mayo: “Grandmothers of Plaza de Mayo invites you to the press conference where we will give details about the happy reunion of granddaughter 139.
